January 2026:
A New Approach for the Calistan Method
A subscription-based model with ongoing support and curated content, designed for learners at earlier stages of Spanish.
The Pilot Is Complete— and the Method Has Evolved
The Calistan Method began as a pilot program focused on advanced learners — people who already knew Spanish but struggled to speak it. The goal was to teach the method and then step back, allowing students to apply it independently, on their own.
That approach worked well for people like me, with little need for pre-defined content, guidance, or ongoing support. What the pilot revealed, however, is that I am the exception. Most learners do want structure — not hand-holding, but clarity around what to practice and how to practice, as the nuances of effective study emerge over time.
During the pilot, I began selectively allowing learners who were much earlier in the process. Initially, I assumed they were too early to benefit, which turned out to be wrong. For beginners studying Spanish — through apps, classes, or self-study — the method became an ideal complement. It provided a structured way to begin training the skill of speaking alongside what they were learning.
Those insights led to this evolution. The Calistan Method now supports learners earlier in their journey by pairing daily speaking practice with curated content and ongoing guidance. It does not replace study — it complements it. This January start reflects that shift: a more guided approach, built around consistency, clarity, and the reality that speaking is a skill that must be trained over time.
A Special Offer… to Launch the Next Phase
January marks the launch of an updated, guided version of the Calistan Method. To support this transition and make it easier to get started, we are waiving the $300 one-time onboarding course fee for January participants.
This means you can complete the onboarding course, learn the full methodology, and get fully set up at no cost if completed by January 31. If you choose to continue beyond onboarding, the ongoing membership is $100 per month, beginning only after the onboarding course is complete. Full details on what’s included in the membership are outlined on the course page.
Enrollment for January will be limited to ensure a small, supported experience. Once the January group is filled, the onboarding course will return to its standard price.
Next Steps: Review the Course Overview
The best way to decide whether this approach fits your goals, expectations, and schedule is to review the updated course overview. That page explains the method in detail, outlines the onboarding course and the ongoing membership, and shows how the program is structured over time.
Enrollment is completed directly from the course page. While the standard onboarding price is shown there, January participants will see a $0 total at checkout, confirming that the onboarding fee has been waived. If the checkout shows the standard price, the January group has already filled and the special offer has closed.
There’s no need to return to this page — everything needed to move forward is on the course overview.
