How Daily Speaking Practice Works
Speaking is not the result of studying — it is the result of practice.
The Calistan Method trains spoken Spanish through deliberate, repeated translation performed out loud. In practice, it feels much like a language-learning app — but one designed specifically for speaking. Instead of memorizing vocabulary lists or analyzing grammar in isolation, you practice converting short thoughts and sentences from English into Spanish, just as you must do in real conversation.
Each practice session follows a simple, repeatable loop. You see a sentence in English, translate it out loud to Spanish, hear a native speaker model the correct response, evaluate your answer, and move on. Over the course of a session, you translate dozens of sentences, reinforcing pronunciation, grammar, structure, and vocabulary at the same time.
Practice sessions are intentionally short and flexible. Most students work on their phone in brief daily sessions, making it easy to build consistency and turn speaking practice into a sustainable habit.

This targeted approach significantly expedites the process.

Foundation decks serve as a starting point. They include more than 1,600 carefully constructed phrases that cover the core structures of spoken Spanish across all major grammatical concepts. For most students, this acts as a comprehensive refresher, helping reconnect what they already know and begin creating a speaking practice.
Custom study decks provide personalization. They are developed in collaboration with you to reflect your specific goals, interests, and how you want to use Spanish. Content is shaped around your work, your conversations, and the topics that matter most to you, allowing your practice to become more relevant, engaging, and directly connected to your daily life.

Speaking fluency is built over time through consistent, deliberate practice. The Calistan Method is designed for learners who are serious about making that progress. The onboarding course is your starting point. It introduces the method, sets up the tools, and gives you everything you need to begin practicing right away.
The onboarding course is available for a one-time fee of $100. This is a simple way to confirm your commitment and get access to the system. It provides full access to the course content, including four hours of video across 16 lessons in three modules. You’ll also receive access to one foundation deck to begin applying the method right away.
